At the heart of OVG Canada’s national strategy is the transformation of Hamilton’s iconic $300 million privately funded redevelopment, TD Coliseum, that will set the standard for live entertainment venues across the country. As Canada’s only music first arena in Canada, welcoming over 120 events annually and serving as a flagship destination for global talent, marquee sports, and next-generation fan experiences.

OVG Canada is spearheading the $280 million renovation of FirstOnatario Centre in Hamilton, ON. The project announced in partnership with the City of Hamilton and Hamilton Urban Precinct Entertainment Group (HUPEG) strives to develop the venue as a centerpiece in the city’s revitalization and serve as the premier music, sports and entertainment destination for the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Arena.

TD COLISEUM

OVG Canada is leading a full-scale $300 million transformation of Hamilton’s downtown arena, renamed TD Coliseum. Celebrated Canadian chef and entrepreneur Matty Matheson is also joining the project, bringing his distinct culinary vision to the venue’s food and beverage experience, featuring a full-service restaurant, The Iron Cow Public House.  

The newly transformed TD Coliseum will be the centerpiece of a premier music, sports, and live entertainment destination in the Golden Horseshoe and Southwestern Ontario, delivering a premium event and hospitality experience for all.

It’s more than a renovation. It’s a transformation tailored for music lovers. Boasting an 18K capacity, state-of-the-art technology, and unparalleled programming expertise, the new TD Coliseum is set to become a more competitive player in attracting the world’s leading touring artists. The reimagined coliseum will have exceptional features that will provide countless memories for attendees, set to open November 2025.

DEPARTURE FESTIVAL + CONFERENCE

Departure is a bold reinvention of the long-standing Canadian Music Week, that launched in May 2025 as Departure Festival + Conference at Toronto’s Hotel X and over 40 venues across the city, blending music, comedy, art, tech, and industry panels. Oak View Group (OVG) partnered with Loft Entertainment to expand the event’s scale and reach, contributing expertise in event development, sponsorship, and marketing. The conference featured a diverse lineup of panelists, including top executives from the global music, sports, and tech industries, as well as artists and cultural leaders discussing the future of entertainment. Their conversations explored emerging trends, innovation, and the intersection of creativity and commerce.

It includes top arenas like Scotiabank Arena (Toronto, ON), Rogers Place (Edmonton, AB), Canada Life Centre (Winnipeg, MB), Videotron Centre (Quebec City, QC) and the newly renovated TD Coliseum (Hamilton, ON), among others. The Alliance helps venues collaborate by sharing best practices, securing national brand partnerships, and coordinating event routing to attract major tours and shows. Launched as part of OVG’s broader expansion into Canada, the Alliance enhances efficiency and market reach for its member arenas.
