Navy Pier is a unique meetings destination, due to its rich and iconic history and unique location on Lake Michigan, known as the People’s Pier, which is conveniently located near downtown Chicago. The Pier stretches for more than six city blocks, and originally opened in 1916 as a shipping and recreation facility. The Pier offers an abundance of on-site entertainment, dining, and attractions, including cultural institutions Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and the Chicago Children’s Museum, as well as free year-round arts and cultural programming.
